The Tailrace Inn is a 6 bedroom inn set in Kinlochleven which nestles at the head of Loch Leven, regarded as one of Scotland’s prettiest lochs. The village of Kinlochleven is surrounded by stunning Mamore Mountain range and scenery and boasts an abundance of beautiful walks. The West Highland Way passes through Kinlochleven and ushers out directly opposite the tailrace inn in the centre of the village.

After spending a wonderful day exploring this stunningly beautiful part of Scotland, the very popular lounge bar is a warm welcoming venue for you to relax and enjoy a quiet drink or indulge yourself in the stimulating atmosphere of both local and fellow travellers company.

The Tailrace Inn offers a wide range of fare, our breakfasts start at 8am, snacks and lunches are served throughout the day, evening meals and hot snacks are available until closing time. Our Highland hospitality approach means that no-one is ever turned away hungry. There are 3 big screen TVs which, along with Sky channels, also offers football lovers all the European matches via Sky Sports and BT Sports. We are a drop off point for AMS and Travelite, baggage transfer on the West Highland Way.

This picturesque spot is an ideal base for access to a fantastic variety of outdoor activities. Surrounded by the spectacular Mamore mountain range and midway between Glencoe and Fort William, outdoor activities abound, with walking, climbing, fishing, sailing, skiing and golfing.  All are available locally with endless opportunities to explore the area on foot, by car or bike. We offer secure storage for those who are touring on bikes.

The roads and scenery around us make us an ideal base for touring by car or motorbike, said by many bikers to be the best roads in Europe. Hill walkers, climbers, outdoor activities enthusiasts, and all visitors to this stunningly beautiful area will be warmly welcomed for refreshment, relaxation and rest in the comfortable accommodation, restaurant and bar. Across the road visitors can enjoy ice climbing, rock climbing and the new aerial adventure course at the Ice Factor, the world’s largest indoor ice climbing wall.
